Duel
Word-chain duel: follow the last letter
Keep the word-chain rules clear
Suggested setup: two players, one listener and about a minute per duel. No equipment needed.
Start with “table”, then “elephant”, then “toast”. Use ordinary English words rather than proper names. Do not repeat a word within a duel. Allow about five seconds per answer; a player who cannot give a valid word loses.
Decide beforehand whether a difficult ending allows the next player to use the second-to-last letter instead. Apply the same rule to both. For a cooperative variation, the whole group aims to produce ten linked words without a time limit.
